Having the Right Attitude as a Sales Newcomer

I'll admit it: I tend to pick myself apart. I feel like I have to be a high performer right out of the gate and any mistake I make will expose me as weak. I find myself online looking at other Sales Professionals' confessions and I realize we are not so different. Sure, we may sell different things and our sales process may differ, but we share a common drive that pushes us to try harder. This kind of attitude can drive a person to madness, though. It will force us to be mechanical and causes us to forget that our human experience is worth celebrating, even on days where we don't perform to our own remarkably high standards.
Some people say you can't be brave without having fear. I will look to tomorrow with hopeful eyes and I will collect "little wins" where I can. I want to start the practice of writing down those wins, both big and small, and put them in a container. At the end of the year, I will pull them out and see how far I have come by reading them one by one. The purpose is to realize this is a marathon, not a sprint....and to have the confidence to keep moving forward.
